I love watching the Emmys (I miss being able to watch them with my friend Holly) but this year, more than any other, is anyone keeping count? I get it, I get it….Hollywood does not like our president and are democrates. I can tell by the countless jokes, slams, and snide comments from multiple presenters, winners, and hosts. Can we just enjoy the awards without the political commentary? I don’t remember anyone saying “Great performance! Can you tell us your views on the political landscape of our country?”
I am OK with celebs giving thier views when asked just like anyone else in the free country but come on…don’t muck up the Emmys.
And not to get going on a rant (I’m really kinda cranky sounding today in my multiple little posts) but why does Hollywood think everyone thinks getting high or drunk is so funny? From the Daily Show to a host on E! starting his spill with “Happy Hangovers everyone!” on his Saturday morning show. I have been hearing more and more people talking about this stuff. It seems to me that I’m hearing more and more “High” jokes and I don’t fully get when you’re trying to entertain an audience, you assume they will be ok or even find funny this stuff.
It’s about as smart as goofballs who are sitting in a public resturant, one table away from a family of kids talking about “getting laid”, getting trashed amd using the “f” word every other sentence. How is this ever considered appropriate public behavior.
OK, that’s my rant. Maybe I’m just getting old.
“Hey you kids….get off my yard!”
*gets off Tom’s yard* 😀
I didn’t watch the Emmys (yeah, I know, I’m about to have my gay card revoked), but on principle I agree with ya–it’s not the place for politics.
