Normally I don’t use my blog for church announcements but I wanted to utilize this tool for these great events going on. I also wanted to open the door for some others to get involved!
Leapin’ Toys
During the month of November 2011, The Shepherd’s Fellowship is collecting two types of items for Leapin’ Ministries.
First, we are collecting new and gently used toys to help multiple families who are in need this Christmas. You can bring the toys…
– to church on Sundays and put in the Leapin’ Christmas bin on the stage
– throughout the week to the church and put it in the outdoor Leapin’ bin which is the large tan bin on the front porch by the grill
– or you can donate monies on-line through the information below under the Paypal section (mark these gifts as “Toys”)
Leapin’ Coats
Also, during the month of November 2011, we are collecting coats (especially men’s coats). You can donate these by …
– putting them in the outdoor Leapin’ bin which is the large tan bin on the front porch by the bin
– or you can donate monies on-line through the information below under the Paypal section (mark these gifts as “Coats”)
Property Tax
We had applied for property tax exemption about three years ago and found out earlier this year that we were approved except for “the house and the property it sits on” which equals one acre according to our county auditor.
This was an unexpected situation for us and we were surprised to have a $3861.68 bill. However, God has already been on the move!
First, there was a substantial amount that was late fees and penalties for not paying the property tax bill while we were waiting for determination. Since we were led to not pay from the information we received during this time, these fees were appealed. After a couple reviews, the late fees were removed which took the bill down to $3073.13!
Then, we recently had the rare honor of a one time gift of $2,000 which we were hoping to use in other ways. However, “the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away” so we have put this towards this tax bill. This takes the bill down to $1073.13!
So we have already been blessed in HUGE ways but we still have more to go that we are trusting for God’s provision through our small church family as well as friends of The Shepherd’s Fellowship.
It is our hope to raise these funds as soon as possible so we can move forward without a lot of struggle and nothing hindering the ministry. The worse case scenario will be setting up a monthly plan with the treasurer’s office but that would cause a monthly hardship for the church.
After our family meeting this past week, I am asking our folks to prayerfully consider…
– making a one time gift towards this need this Sunday at church
– making a one time gift through Paypal if you need to use your debit card (see the Paypal section below) (mark gift “Property Tax”)
– make a pledge this Sunday or next to give an additional amount per month (over your tithe amount) for a year to cover the payment if we need to go that route.
It will take some big moves to knock this out and we are praying for big things! Be part of this testimony as it builds! If you are not an attendee of The Fellowship but would like to contribute, we would appreciate any help. Your gifts are tax deductible. If we were blessed to raise more than the current bill, the additional funds will go towards the property bill for 2011 that is coming in a couple months.
Paypal
Paypal is a great tool if you want to help but need to do so on your debit card or if you live farther away. You can contribute for these causes or others by going here.
Also, for all you Fellowshippers….
Did you know you could set up your tithes and offerings through Paypal so you don’t have to remember to bring your checkbook on Sundays? Just go to our Paypal page and set up a reoccurring with your debit card and the rest is done for you! Might be of interest to you…….
As always, we appreciate your support and faithfulness!
