Spiritually hurting? Please read this….

In this study, I felt led to speak into a reality we all hit at one point or another. In some cases, we are experiencing it today as we try to find our way through.

Even though we know the truth of God and the Bible…
Even thought we have had undeniable experiences with Him….
Even though we have a rich history of Him moving in our life…

Right now? We struggle. We hurt. We are not sure how to move on. We feel disconnected and battered.

If you are in this boat or know what’s it’s like as you have been there before, I pray you come out as we let the Spirit minister to that area through the Word and His touch.

It might be hard but it’s worth hearing His whispers. I know. Elijah knows.

For many, Thanksgiving is an awesome time of family, food and fun. For others, not so much.

In this podcast, we go deeper into what we have to be thankful for when all else fails. When we are struggling, the bills aren’t paid, and we feel we have fallen far short of what God wants us to be. There is an underlining truth that leads to thanksgiving outside of these temporary but looming factors.

As we continue our walk through the letter of 1 John, we explore the life that comes through “Greater Love” and what things cheat us from it.

Most of us experience seasons in our lives where things are not turning out the way we thought they would. We have invested blood, sweat, and tears into paths that led us to dead ends or worse yet, cliffs.

John has practical teaching for us on avoiding these life crashes and how to move to higher ground than we ever have before. We pray you can join us as we explore these truths together, no matter what dead end or cliff you face today is.

I remember when I was in Thailand that we visited one of the local schools. The school treated us very well and while we were having lunch, they had two of the school girls come in and play violin for us while we ate. They played beautifully and we really appreciated their talent and effort.  However, that’s not where most of my attention was.

Off to the side was a woman in her mid-thirties. At first, I thought she might be their music teacher since she came in with them and was helping the kids. However, after a very short amount of time, I came to the conclusion that the girls must be sisters and this must be their mother.

There was just something in the way she looked at them. The amount of love, care, and pride in her daughters was just busting through. I found it beautiful how she was leaning forward the entire time they played and was the first and loudest to clap for and encourage them (even when they made minor mistakes).

This is how God looks at you today if you have accepted Jesus as Leader and Forgiver in your life.

If you have not, He is reaching out to you in a desire to bring you to Him.

I found out later, the mom was a single mother and their life was not easy. She had made a connection with the pastor’s wife from Bible Church Thailand and said she lived close and would visit. I pray they do …

“…if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” Romans 10:9-10

If you were holding $100 in counterfeit twenties, you probably wouldn’t know it. The best counterfeits look most like the real thing so it would be easy to be tricked until it came time to try to cash it in.

If you had this counterfeit money, wouldn’t you want someone to tell you? Wouldn’t you want schooled in how to spot the fake thing instead of investing in something that would be worthless in the end?

This week, we dive into 1 John 2: 15- 27 to expose counterfeit love and counterfeit versions of Jesus Christ. So many people in our world are investing in false versions of both and without the proper understanding of them, you could be one of them.

Join us and walk out knowing how to spot the fake, how to find the true, and how to live in the fullness of love and relationship with God.

No more substitutes!

Most of us have seen the pain caused when communication goes south in a marriage, relationship, church, family, and beyond. Sometimes the culprit was avoidance, gossip, anger or a hard heart that led to painful days and broken relationships.

This week, we dig into proper communication through the words of Christ in our relationships and church families. We will branch out into other church communication areas that often break unity as well.

If you have been hurt in a relationship or church before due to bad communication, you are not alone. As we continue to prepare ourselves for what God is doing next with our local church family, we continue to strengthen our foundation by addressing these common bumps that can destroy people’s emotions and relationships if not handled well before they start gaining ground.

Come be part of the study as we pray it will help you have a stronger and more freeing foundation as well.

This is not your normal sermon on homosexuality….

Few topics divide the world and the church like homosexuality. For that matter, few things divide the church like the same topic.

The issues within the GLBT community effect our politics, views, and most of all… personal lives. Many have been hurt, driven to anger or just fall away over past hurts and experiences and the divide deepens.

At The Shepherd’s Fellowship, we believe in 100% love and 100% truth. Can this also apply to the conversation of homosexuality? Be part of our study and see what you find as we dig into a hot button but critical study.
